Appraisal Institute elects new president

The Appraisal Institute (AI) has announced that Jefferson Sherman has been named president of the association.

During his one-year term, Sherman and other Appraisal Institute officers and board members will focus on advocating on behalf of appraisers, increasing diversity and inclusion in the organization, and expanding AI's body of knowledge.

Sherman has served as chapter president of Appraisal Institute in Ohio and has worked on two chapter merger teams. He was also a member of AI's board of directors, finance committee, nominating committee, education committee, internal relations committee, and strategic planning committee.

“I’m excited to lead this outstanding organization during such an important time in the valuation profession’s history,” Sherman said. “It’s both an exciting and challenging time to be an appraiser, and the Appraisal Institute looks forward to enhancing its role as the valuation profession’s thought leader.”
