Stephen Curry tapped to lead Gateway Mortgage team

Gateway Mortgage Group has appointed Stephen Curry as its new CEO. Curry succeeds Kevin Stitt in the role. Stitt founded Gateway in 2000 and has led the company for the past 18 years. He will remain on as chairman.

Curry has more than 30 years of financial service industry experience. He has been working with Gateway in an advisory role for the last year.

In 2009, Curry founded banking advisory firm Everett Advisory Partners, which provides services to CEOs and boards of directors of community and regional financial institutions. He started his banking career with RepublicBank Texas and has held leadership roles at Bank of America, NationsBank and various other executive positions.

“I am proud of all that we have accomplished in nearly two decades, and I am excited for the future of Gateway under Stephen Curry’s leadership,” Stitt said. “Curry shares Gateway’s passion to strengthen families through helping people achieve the American dream of homeownership. He is a proven leader who has driven strategy and growth for various financial institutions over the past 30 years, and I am confident in Curry’s ability to take Gateway to new heights.”

“Gateway Mortgage Group is a remarkable company with a strong culture, great talent, and a robust client base,” Curry said. “The company is an important asset to the state of Oklahoma and the entire mortgage industry. I want to thank Kevin for entrusting me with such an impressive legacy.”
