PMRI exec named president of mortgage compliance organization

Industry veteran H. Burton Embry will head up a new organization for mortgage compliance professionals

A new professional organization for the mortgage compliance industry has named a Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc., exec as its president.

H. Burton Embry, executive vice president and chief compliance officer for PRMI, will serve as president of the Mortgage Compliance Professionals Association of America (MCPAOA). In that role, Embry will lead the organization’s efforts to enhance members’ professional skills and keep up with current compliance trends.

“We are thrilled to have Burton’s extensive compliance market knowledge as the head of our new organization,” said Ben Slayton, founder of MCPAOA. Slayton said that Embry “will play an extremely important role in moving MCPAOA forward as the preeminent compliance organization in the mortgage industry.”

Embry has more than 35 years of experience in the financial and mortgage banking industry. For more than 30 years, he’s focused on mortgage compliance and quality assurance. Prior to his service at PRMI, he’s served as a compliance executive at mortgage companies such as GE Capital Mortgage, Banc One Financial Services and NationsCredit.
