Mortgage Guaranty Insurance appoints chief information security officer

Mortgage Guaranty Insurance has added Sean Valcamp as vice president and chief information security officer.

MGIC, the MGIC Investment principal subsidiary that serves lenders throughout the US, Puerto Rico, and other locations, had $196.5 billion of primary insurance in force covering approximately one million mortgages as of Feb. 28.

"Sean will be a great fit in his role at MGIC," said Greg Chi, senior vice president of information services and chief information officer. "His leadership credentials and wealth of experience in information risk management and governance practices make him a valuable addition to our team as we support MGIC's ongoing growth."

Valcamp brings 28 years of experience in the technology industry to the role. He joins MGIC from Phoenix-based Avnet, where he served in IT roles of increasing responsibility. He was appointed as the company’s first chief information security officer in 2015. Before that, he served as Avnet’s global security leader for more than 11 years.
