The mortgage veteran brings 30 years of experience to his new role

Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation (MGIC) has announced the promotion of mortgage veteran Steven Thompson to executive vice president and chief risk officer.
Thompson has spent more than 21 years of his three-decade mortgage career at MGIC, where he most recently served as vice president of credit policy and pricing and as interim risk officer.
Before joining MGIC, he worked at GE Mortgage Insurance’s risk management division.
"The combination of Steve's skills and experience, both in the industry and with our company, makes him well-suited to lead our risk management team," said MGIC Chief Executive Officer Timothy Mattke. "Our company and industry are in great shape to expand our role in the market. Steve's experiences will provide us invaluable insight into how we can expand our role while maintaining a robust risk management culture."
