Gateway First Bank hires new chief compliance officer

Gateway First Bank has announced the appointment of Natalia Coen as its new chief compliance officer.

As CCO, Coen will be responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing the execution of the company’s compliance management system. She will advise Gateway’s senior management, its board of directors, and any committees that require guidance with new laws and regulatory concerns.

The company also added Coen as a member of the risk and compliance committee, where she will supervise the compliance management processes for Gateway. In addition, she will draft and implement compliance policies for the bank.

Coen most recently worked at Denver-based CoBiz Financial as senior vice president and director of compliance. In these roles, she directed compliance, customer complaint, third-party contract, and fair lending management programs.

“Natalia is an accomplished compliance professional who has a proven ability to lead and manage teams and projects,” said Scott Gesell, chief administrative officer of Gateway. “Her extensive knowledge of banking services, consumer compliance issues, processes, regulatory requirements, and more will make her a strong asset to Gateway as we continue our transition in the banking space. We are excited to have her join the team.”

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with a company full of driven industry professionals,” said Coen. “Gateway is experiencing a time of growth and exciting change, and I look forward to playing a role in the company’s compliance initiatives as we evolve and achieve great success together.”
