Far-out Friday: London homes purchased with bitcoin

A UK broker is now accepting payment in virtual currency

Two London homes are being apparently being purchased with bitcoin, according to an MSNBC report.

The homes are being sold by Cai-Capital, a Gloucestershire brokerage that says it’s the first to accept the virtual currency for a transaction.

The homes were sold for $1.7 million and $1.28 million, respectively, MSNBC reported. That works out to 2,826 and 2,103 bitcoins at a $600 value per bitcoin.

“Cai-Capital is proud to announce that we are the first UK property company to accept bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies,” the company said in a statement.

No word yet on whether mortgage servicers will start accepting payment in Coinye West.
