Top VA loan originator takes charge of UMortgage's military lending division

UMortgage has welcomed Patton Gade (pictured) to its leadership team as national director of military lending.

The company said Gade’s appointment is part of its strategic move to enhance its military lending division, aiming to enhance homebuying opportunities for military community members and address the misconceptions surrounding VA loans in the mortgage industry.

Gade, a US Military Academy at West Point graduate, has committed his career in the mortgage sector to assisting active service members, veterans, and their families in achieving homeownership. “I’m thrilled to join the UMortgage platform and team up with its already impressive team of VA loan originators,” he said in a media release.

At UMortgage, Gade will collaborate with Jay Bunte, another top veteran loan originator and West Point alumnus. Together, they plan to strengthen UMortgage’s VA loan services and mentor loan originators (LOs) to better assist veteran homebuyers.

“It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to work with and learn from someone like Patton, who has such an incredible passion for serving and educating our veterans and active service members,” Bunte said. He further emphasized the need to address the misconceptions surrounding VA loans, adding, “The military division that we are creating will do a lot to correct those narratives and help us better serve our service members.”
