MBA announces leadership and board members for 2024

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has ushered in a new era of leadership and governance, unveiling its executive team and board members for 2024 at the 2023 Annual Convention & Expo in Philadelphia.

Mark Jones, president of Union Home Mortgage, has been sworn in as the 2024 chairman of MBA. He also co-founded Amerifirst Home Mortgage and led it to significant growth before its merger with Union Home Mortgage in January 2023.

“I have been a proud part of the MBA family for nearly four decades and am incredibly honored and ecstatic to serve as the next chairman. With the support of Laura Escobar and Christine Chandler, I am confident that our industry will overcome the current tough market environment,” said Jones. “I am committed to promoting financial literacy for young adults and focusing on advocacy initiatives that increase housing supply and improve affordability in communities across America.”

Jones is joined by Laura Escobar, president of Lennar Mortgage, and Christine Chandler, chief credit officer and chief operating officer of M&T Realty Capital Corporation, who were appointed as chair-elect and vice chair, respectively.
