Lennar names new board member

Lennar Corporation has named real estate industry veteran Serena Wolfe (pictured) as a new member of its board of directors, effective September 2.

Wolfe, who brings 25 years of experience, joins Lennar’s board for a term extending until Lennar’s 2024 annual meeting of stockholders. Wolfe currently serves as a director and chair of the audit and risk committee of Doma Holdings.

“I have worked alongside Serena for two years as a director of Doma Holdings, a publicly traded real estate technology company in which Lennar has an investment and where Serena also serves as a director and chair of the audit committee,” Lennar executive chairman Stuart Miller said in a release. “I have had the opportunity to watch the credible work that Serena has brought to the board and the audit committee at Doma.”

Additionally, Wolfe served as chief financial officer of Annaly Capital Management since 2019. Before Annaly, she was a partner at Ernst & Young, where she started her career in 1998.

“Her outstanding credentials include two decades of experience in public accounting,” Miller added. “Serena’s election to our board will assure that Lennar continues to provide precision and transparency in our financial reporting and to meet the rigorous standards for the conduct of our business that our investors have come to expect from our company.”

Wolfe’s appointment comes three weeks after the home construction company announced major changes to its executive team. Lennar’s head, Rick Beckwitt, will retire as a co-CEO and co-president and resign as a board of directors member.
