Firms name seasoned executives to advance market strategies and regulatory focus

Two major mortgage players, Evergreen Home Loans and Newrez, have announced the addition of seasoned leaders to their senior ranks this week, each bringing decades of experience into roles designed to sharpen business strategy and policy engagement.
At Evergreen Home Loans, Andrew Leff (pictured left) has been named head of national business development. Leff’s background spans over 20 years across leading financial institutions, including senior leadership roles at Wells Fargo, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and U.S. Bank. His expertise covers business development, strategic partnerships, and retail sales leadership on a national scale.
Leff’s new role focuses on expanding Evergreen’s market reach through partnerships, builder relationships, and national initiatives aimed at boosting retail production. At Wells Fargo, he previously led multiple strategic partnership channels, including builder, corporate affinity, and wealth management.
At Bank of America, he helped scale the national builder and affinity platforms, and at JPMorgan Chase, he drove growth in new construction condominium lending. Most recently, Leff was regional production manager for U.S. Bank’s Mid-Atlantic region, turning it into one of the company’s top performers in new construction lending.
Meanwhile, Newrez has appointed Mark McArdle (pictured right) as senior vice president of regulatory relations, public policy and stakeholder engagement, a newly created position. McArdle brings more than 20 years of experience in housing and mortgage policy, including work in both nonprofits and government.
From 2017 to 2025, McArdle served as assistant director of mortgage markets at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), where he oversaw a team analyzing trends in mortgage origination and servicing. His work included leading efforts to modernize HMDA reporting, revising the Ability to Repay/Qualified Mortgage rules, and guiding the CFPB’s mortgage policy response during COVID-19.
