Melanie Evans has been with ING Australia since 2017, leading its retail bank, which spans the consumer, SME. and commercial property finance customer segments. In this role, she is in charge of the customer experience, contact centres, distribution, customer interactions, banking and wealth product, marketing, digital, and innovation. Prior to ING, she was a chief of staff within the Westpac Group, where she led business units across mortgages, transformation, and business banking. Outside her work responsibilities, Evans volunteers her time as an independent director on the Board of Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) and is Chair of the SLSA finance, audit, and compliance committee. She also sits in the board of the European Australian Business Council. Her educational achievements include a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance and marketing, a Master of Commerce degree in marketing, and Master of Professional Accounting degree, all from UNSW. ING was named Bank of the Year at the 2020 Australian Mortgage Awards.
