College seniors seeking a career in the mortgage industry can apply to NewDay USA’s paid internship program.
The VA lender announced that it is recruiting 150 interns for its one-week winter break internship, which offers participants a chance to gain full-time career opportunities at NewDay.
The company is looking for full-time students pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at a US-accredited university and expecting to graduate in 2020.
Since its launch in 2017, NewDay has hired more than half of the 300 college seniors that have gone through the program. The internship features a “Money Smart” series that teaches students personal finance skills like how to save up to purchase a home.
“I came here seven years ago right out of college, and NewDay has given me the opportunity to work my way up in leadership and obtain my executive MBA at Wharton,” said Michael Oursler, chief credit officer and instructor in the program. “It's the perfect opportunity for college seniors.”
Interested college students can apply online at the NewDay USA website or attend the firm's next Superday information sessions on November 8, November 22, and December 13, 2019.
“NewDay USA is proud to be training the next generation of mortgage bankers to lead our industry,” said NewDay USA CEO Rob Posner. “We are giving our college interns an opportunity to learn about critical life skills as well as the value of homeownership. Lessons that are not typically taught in the classroom.”
