Academy Mortgage adds new executives
Utah-based Academy Mortgage has announced the promotion and addition of three new vice presidents to its executive management.

Rob Shockley has been named the company’s new senior vice president of human resources, according to a news release; John Norman is now the vice president of risk management; and Abby Hawkins is the new vice president of learning, training and development.

Shockley joined Academy Mortgage last year as part of the production leadership team. He’s been a member of the Idaho State bar for 24 years and has extensive experience in representing clients for personnel matters, civil litigation, administrative hearings, insurance matters, strategic planning and risk management.

Prior to his new position, Norman was the company’s chief compliance officer. As the new risk management VP, he will be responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s enterprise risk management program and will supervise the quality assurance and quality control departments.

New hire Hawkins will lead Academy’s onboarding, training and personal and professional development initiatives. She has extensive experience in instructional psychology, design, development and technology.

“We greatly value the strong leadership skills, unique experience and vast knowledge that Rob, John and Abby bring to our team,” said James MacPherson, president of Academy Mortgage. “Each of them and the teams they manage play a vital role in helping our company fulfill its vision to inspire hope, deliver dreams and build prosperity through our mortgage solutions and services and our community outreach.”
