Organised by Key Media and supported by Mortgage Professional Australia and Australian Broker, the awards will again have the backing of event partner Westpac. Awards for Broker of the Year, Young Gun of the Year, Brokerage of the Year, Bank of the Year and Non-Bank of the Year, are among the industry’s highest accolades. A symbol of authority and credibility, the awards provide an opportunity to be recognised and celebrated within the industry.
Nominations can be made for any of seven categories: broker, brokerage, industry, aggregator, BDM, lender and national.
In the 2021 lender category, Bankwest won the coveted Bank of the Year award. Pepper Money was awarded Non-Bank of the Year. FBAA Broker of the Year - Independent and the Westpac Australian Broker of the Year awards were won by Zippy Financial director and principal broker Louisa Sanghera. Broker of the Year – Commercial was won by Bayside Commercial Mortgages managing director Kevin Wheatley.
Across the seven categories, there are awards for Most Effective Digital Strategy (Brokerage/ Lender), Best Customer Service from an Individual Office, New Brokerage of the Year, Best Industry Marketing Campaign, Best Industry Service, Aggregator of the Year, Best Aggregator BDM, Fintech Lender of the Year and Loan Services Team of the Year.
Bankwest was awarded Bank of the Year and the award for Most Effective Digital Strategy – Lender in 2021. Bankwest general manager third party banking Ian Rakhit suggested those entering the awards view them as a valuable form of feedback. Feedback received from brokers can be an “invaluable gauge on the value you’re delivering to those you’re trying to support”, Rakhit told MPA.
This year will be the first live event in three years. Encompassing a pre-awards cocktail reception, red carpet, dinner banquet, awards ceremony and live entertainment throughout the night, the 2022 Australian Mortgage Awards are a highlight on the industry social calendar.
This year, the nomination and submission process has been simplified. People who place nominations, or their nominees, are no longer required to complete a final submission later.
Those who are selected for an award will be contacted in the week of July 25, and answers provided by the person who nominated them will then be provided to the judges.
