Non-QM leader rejoins Carrington Mortgage Services to lead TPO team

Carrington Mortgage Services (CMS) has welcomed back non-QM leader Samuel Bjelac (pictured), who is returning as senior vice president of national sales and third-party origination (TPO).

Bjelac, previously divisional VP of wholesale lending at CMS, will now lead the company’s third-party origination teams. His expertise is expected to be pivotal in expanding CMS's non-QM business, which forms a crucial part of the company's lending strategy.

He returns to Carrington after a stint of just over a year at LendingOne as VP of third-party origination. Before that, Bjelac held various non-QM and wholesale leadership positions at Sprout Mortgage, Flagstar Bank, and First Magnus Financial.

“Samuel brings more than 20 years of mortgage experience to Carrington,” said Greg Austin, EVP of lending at CMS. “Combining a deep understanding of the non-QM business, along with his sales leadership experience, I am very excited about the future of wholesale and correspondent at CMS.”

Additionally, Bjelac's role will focus on leading the wholesale and correspondent sales teams and guiding brokers from the initial contact through the entire loan origination process.

“I am blessed and humbled at the opportunity to come back to a company I called home for so many years, and I’m thrilled to continue building, growing, and serving a high-performance sales team that can excel in any market,” Bjelac said in a statement. “Our incredible loan programs, advanced technology and enviable operations teams are solidly committed to providing unwavering support to our mortgage industry partners.”

“Sam’s return to Carrington comes at just the right time,” Austin added. “His non-QM expertise is well established throughout our industry, and I’m extremely excited to bring him back home to lead our third-party origination team.”
