Civic Financial grows its correspondent team with two new hires

Civic Financial Services has tapped mortgage veterans Nancy Aplin and Norma Navarro to its new correspondent team.

Aplin joins the company as West Coast regional sales manager. She will focus on expanding and developing relationships with Civic’s partners. Aplin, with more than two decades of experience in third-party originations, most recently managed relationships with mortgage bankers and brokers at New Penn Financial and Ditech Financial.

Navarro also has over 20 years of mortgage experience with in-depth knowledge in underwriting, project management, and loan origination. As operations manager, she will be responsible for overseeing correspondent operations across the nation. Navarro served at Bank of America before Civic.

“Developing our correspondent channel was a year-long endeavor,” said Civic Financial President William Tessar. “We had the vision, and we were methodical in crafting this channel to ensure our clients were set up for success. Our focus in 2019 is to increase our reach on the West Coast, expanding to the Midwest and East Coast in 2020.”

The new execs will join the growing team of Zeenat Zonte, director of correspondent lending.

“The timing of CIVIC’s correspondent channel launch is impeccable, as many clients are looking for an alternative to non-QM programs to help them grow and stay competitive in the ever-shifting marketplace,” Zonte said. “This allows them to diversify their offerings by adding business purpose, non-owner loan programs to create an additional stream of revenue,” she added.
