The company sponsors Open Door’s initiatives to help families with critically ill children
National Mortgage Insurance Corporation has announced that it will sponsor the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Open Doors Foundation in 2020.
MBA Open Doors provides rental and mortgage payment assistance to parents and guardians caring for a critically ill or injured child. Throughout the year, National MI will be donating a portion of the premium for every loan it insures to the foundation.
“National MI is delighted to give to the MBA Opens Doors Foundation,” said National MI CEO Claudia Merkle. “The lenders we work with can feel good knowing that for every loan we insure, money is being donated so that families facing large medical bills don’t have to worry about losing their homes.”
Since its launch in 2011, Open Doors has served more than 4,500 families, funding over $6.3 million in housing assistance.
“Supporting the communities in which we live and work is ingrained in our corporate culture,” said Mary Lee Sharp, chief human resources officer at National MI. “The MBA Opens Doors Foundation is a very worthwhile cause that supports one of National MI’s most important charitable objectives: helping families in need remain in their homes.”
