A mortgage lending firm has been feted for its "innovative and creative" use of technology.

First Guaranty Mortgage Corporation has been named an Ellie Mae 2013 Hall of Fame inductee. The mortgage lender, which has retail, correspondent, warehouse and wholesale channels, was honored by Ellie Mae for its "Exceptional Customization of Compass", Ellie Mae's lending origination system. Winning companies were inducted into the hall of fame by legendary NCAA basketball coach Bob Knight.

“Our Hall of Fame inductees are some of the most technologically and business savvy mortgage companies in the country,” said Jonathan Corr, Ellie Mae president and CEO. “They have leveraged Ellie Mae’s Encompass technology to automate the process of originating loans, improve compliance and enhance their customers’ overall experience. We are pleased to congratulate these leaders on their well-deserved place in our Hall of Fame and look forward to working with them for years to come.”

First Guaranty CIO Ben Sizemore said technology was essential to success for lenders.

“Technology has long since exceeded the status of ‘nice-to-have’ and is no longer a luxury in this market,” Sizemore said.
