Freddie Mac taps exec as new CIO

Freddie Mac has appointed Frank Nazzaro to the roles of executive vice president and chief information officer on a permanent basis.

Nazzarro, who has more than 20 years of experience in the fintech industry, joined Freddie Mac last year as chief technology officer and has been serving as acting CIO since May.

As a member of the senior operating committee, Nazzaro will head the information technology division and provide corporate-wide leadership for the government-sponsored enterprise’s technology strategy.

“Frank has demonstrated that he is the right person at the right moment to deliver technology solutions that make us faster, smarter and more efficient,” said Freddie Mac Chief Executive Officer David Brickman. “I look forward to his leadership in creating a world-class operating platform that delivers lasting benefits for our company while responsibly managing our risks.”

Before Freddie Mac, Nazzarro held several senior technology and management roles at various fintech firms. Nazarro was group vice president and CTO for Travelport and at CIT Group.

“It’s a pivotal and exciting time to be at Freddie Mac. We’re not only transforming our infrastructure and tools, we’re modernizing the way we work,” Nazzaro said. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to further advance our technology strategy, which is key to better and more resilient systems that protect our company while meeting the demands of our customers and employees.”
