Eastern Union to launch virtual underwriting internship this summer

Eastern Union has announced that it is offering virtual underwriting internships this summer as part of its initiative to help students develop expertise in banking, finance and real estate.

According to the commercial real estate finance company, the part-time internship covers four tracks: underwriting and finance, sales and origination, hands-on education, and business development. The internship curricula will be offered in conjunction with services provided by the company's new multi-family group.

All college and post-graduate students are qualified to apply, though Eastern Union said that it would prioritize students whose planned internships have been called off because of COVID-19-related disruptions. The virtual interns will work remotely and alongside the company's CRE brokers and senior underwriters.

"These virtual internships represent Eastern Union's way of giving back to the community during challenging times," said Ira Zlotowitz, founder and president of Eastern Union. "We're looking for applicants ready to learn on-point skills in commercial real estate finance, and then leverage these skills to help propel their future careers."

The internship sessions will run on a four-day period from July 1 to August 31.
