Zillow expands homebuying business to San Diego

Zillow has announced the expansion of its homebuying business, Zillow Offers, to San Diego.

Zillow Offers allows home sellers to upload information about their home to Zillow’s website and receive a preliminary cash offer from Zillow within 48 hours. If the seller accepts the offer, they can choose a closing date anywhere between five and 90 days out. Zillow will then purchase the home, make minor repairs, and list the home on the market.

Zillow launched the Zillow Offers plan in Phoenix in 2018, and since then has expanded to several other markets, including Las Vegas, Atlanta, Denver, Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C., Houston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Orlando, Portland, Ore., Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, Colo., Nashville and Miami.

San Diego marks the second California market Zillow Offers has entered. The company launched the service in Riverside, Calif., in March, and has plans to expand to Sacramento and Los Angeles by early 2020.

“Sellers who sell their home to Zillow love the flexibility, convenience and certainty of selling to a company they already know and trust,” Jeremy Wacksman, Zillow brand president, said Monday. “We are on a mission to transform real estate, and with our San Diego launch today, we are one step closer to delivering a seamless transaction experience to homebuyers and sellers across the country.”
