Total Expert brings on new chief product officer

Total Expert has named Matt Tippets as the company's new chief product officer.

The fintech company hired Tippets to head the management, design, strategy, and marketing of its products. The 20-year industry veteran will also focus on creating a platform that provides banks, credit unions, and mortgage lenders with centralized data and event-driven engagement to help them promote better financial health to their customers.

"Personal financial wellness is absolutely critical, especially during these periods of financial uncertainty. Each of us wants confidence in our financial decisions and in the financial institutions we work with, and that confidence can only come from trust," Tippets said. "Total Expert is the cornerstone on which this trust is established so that relationships between customers and banks or lenders can flourish through education and transparency. I'm thrilled to lead the product organization for a platform focused on building trust and providing tangible value to businesses and their customers."

Before joining Total Expert, Tippets worked at Salesforce Marketing Cloud as a vice president of product. Prior to that, he led marketing and product management for Parature, a cloud-based customer service software platform acquired by Microsoft in 2014.

Tippets' appointment came at a time of significant growth for the firm. Over the past 12 months, Total Expert more than doubled its employee count, including a roster of senior executive hires.

"As Total Expert continues to experience rapid revenue growth on the heels of $86 million in venture capital funding, we're fortunate to add a wealth of executive experience to our team," Total Expert founder and CEO Joe Welu said. "Matt and the rest of our executive team understand the tremendous responsibility financial brands have for the futures of their customers, and they're ready to help them continue to prioritize financial wellness within every experience."
