Execution: Less talk, more action

We have a strong aversion to people who don't do what they say they're going to do. But don't we often fall into that trap as well?

If there's one thing about politicians that really turns us off, it is broken promises. They say one thing when they're campaigning and do the complete opposite once they get into office. We have a strong aversion to people who don't do what they say they're going to do.

But, as leaders in the mortgage industry, don't we often fall into that trap as well? We like to talk to our employees, our customers, our investors, and so on about what we're going to accomplish. We like holding the press conference or giving a pep talk. We enjoy the limelight.

But, in the end, what matters is our action. Our we getting the job done. Sometimes, we need to just do it -- not talking about doing it but actually doing it. In the end, execution is everything. We need less talk and more action.
