Cloudvirga appoints new technology chief

Cloudvirga has tapped Daniel Akiva to spearhead the company’s engineering team as chief technology officer.

As CTO, Akiva will not only develop technology strategy for the mortgage tech provider but also oversee the growth of its engineering team. Cloudvirga has announced plans to add around 50 new technical positions in Orange County.

“Cloudvirga’s commitment to reimagining and then automating the mortgage process to streamline compliance, reduce cost and improve the overall customer experience makes it a truly unique player in the mortgage technology space,” said James Vinci, Cloudvirga executive vice president of technology. “We’re excited to have an innovator like Daniel on the leadership team to help us continue to revolutionize the way lenders do business.”

Most recently, Akiva served as senior vice president of consumer lending technology at loanDepot. Before that, he co-founded and worked as CTO of real estate startup HōmDNA. Akiva also held senior leadership positions at computer software firms Rapid7 and Borland.

“We have a great opportunity to further expand our engineering team locally here in Orange County,” said Akiva. “Our teams continue to develop exciting new solutions for the trillion-dollar home loan market, and I can't wait to see the ways our growing team continues to impact the industry.”
