Huntington Bank expands commercial banking operations to Florida

Huntington National Bank is bringing its commercial banking services to Florida, targeting the state’s growing middle-market business sector in a move marking the latest chapter in the bank’s expansion across the southern United States.

The bank has appointed Josh Sheradsky, a veteran middle-market banker with 16 years of experience in Florida, as senior managing director to lead the new regional team. According to the company, the Fort Lauderdale office will serve as its commercial banking hub for the state. Joining Sheradsky is Monica Olsen, who brings 15 years of industry expertise and will serve as senior executive relationship manager.

Florida is the newest addition to Huntington Commercial Bank’s regional portfolio. The bank has recently broadened its reach into North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas. The company noted that these efforts are part of a nationwide growth strategy aimed at enhancing services for mid-sized corporate clients.

“Our goal is to bring our commercial banking expertise and capabilities to more clients across the country and ultimately help their businesses thrive,” said Scott Kleinman, president of Huntington Commercial Bank. “With our experienced middle-market team in Florida, we’re well positioned to meet the complex needs of a diverse range of companies in one of the fastest-growing markets in the nation.”

The bank’s commercial segment delivers services such as lending, liquidity management, treasury and payments solutions, and capital markets access. Its teams work closely with Capstone Partners, Huntington’s investment banking arm, as well as with the bank’s wealth management division, Huntington Private Bank, to provide comprehensive business and personal financial planning.

In recent years, Huntington Commercial Bank has also introduced several new industry-specific verticals, including Fund Finance, Native American Financial Services, Mortgage Servicing Lending and Deposits, Financial Institutions Group, and Aerospace & Defense.

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Huntington Bancshares Inc. has $210 billion in assets and operates 968 branches across 13 states.
