Freedom Mortgage, Radian extend MBA Opens Doors sponsorship

Freedom Mortgage and Radian Group have reaffirmed their support for the MBA Opens Doors Foundation, advancing the organization’s charitable work with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

Over the next five to six years, Freedom will commit an additional $600,000, and Radian will pledge $500,000 to the alliance with CHOP. As part of the partnership, Open Doors provides housing grants to families with critically ill or injured children needing mortgage or rental payment assistance.

“This multi-year commitment allows Opens Doors to plan for the needs of families with a child in treatment at CHOP and for families across the country,” said Debra Still, chairman of the foundation’s board of directors.

Since 2020, Open Doors has provided nearly $1 million in housing assistance to 660 CHOP families, made possible by a $800,000 funding commitment from Freedom and Radian, according to its news release. CHOP is one of Opens Doors’ largest network hospitals, with 564 in-patient beds and more than 1.3 million outpatient visits annually.

“Radian is committed to protecting and ensuring the American dream of homeownership and is proud to continue our long-standing support of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation and of the foundation’s alliance with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia,” said Rick Thornberry, CEO of Radian and board director of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation. “The opportunity to help families in Philadelphia and across the country with critically ill or injured children struggling to make their housing payments is a testament to our investment in communities where we live and work, and we are thrilled to continue to make an incredible impact on families in need.”
