Angel Oak Home Loans expands new consumer-direct division

Angel Oak Home Loans has continued to grow its consumer-direct division with the appointment of an industry leader and the opening of another division in Louisiana.

The mortgage lender appointed Ed Powell to head the new unit in Charlotte, N.C., as regional manager. After the recent opening of its Atlanta division, Angel Oak said it plans to expand its consumer-direct channel further into the Southeast under Powell’s supervision.

The company will also open a third division in Baton Rouge, La., and will hire additional staff to support the expansion in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Louisiana.

“After celebrating a tremendous year of growth at Angel Oak, we are thrilled to continue our internal expansion through Ed and the new consumer-direct divisions,” said Richard LaNasa, president of Angel Oak Home Loans. “At Angel Oak, we are dedicated to providing top-tier customer service. Ed’s proven track record of doing so will strengthen our relationships so we can continue to provide innovative products and service more borrowers.”

“I’m looking forward to coming on board with Angel Oak after their impressive 2019, which showed they are truly the leaders in expanded credit lending,” Powell said. “I’m excited to apply my expertise in lead generation as well as my ability to build quality relationships as we grow the consumer-direct division.”
