American properties dominate top 10 most expensive global luxury homes
Six luxury homes in the US are on the top 10 of current $100 million-plus listings worldwide, according to a new report from Christie’s International Real Estate.

Villa Leopolda/Villa Les Cedres, located in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France, came in first with a reported list price of $1.1 billion, followed by the Nile Niami Bel Air home in Bel Air, Calif., at $500 million.

Another luxury home in Bel Air placed sixth at a reported list price of $250 million.

American luxury homes filled in the rest of the top 10 list: at seventh place is 220 Central Park South Quadruplex in New York, NY – a new development first listed in 2016 and priced at $250 million. The Spelling Manor in Holmby Hills, Calif., ranked eighth at $200 million, followed by The Beverly Compound/Hearst Estate in Beverly Hills at $195 million.

The Great Island in Darien, Conn., capped the list at a reported list price of $175 million.

This comes in as global luxury-home sales reportedly slowed for the second consecutive year, as home sales with a price tag of $1 million and up rose by only a percent.
