First Home Mortgage names company veteran as president

First Home Mortgage has tapped company veteran Tim Whittier (pictured) to serve as its new president.

Whittier, who joined First Home Mortgage in 2009, will take over the role from David Waters, founder and CEO of the company. Waters expressed his full confidence in handing over the reins.

“I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Tim Whittier as the new president of First Home Mortgage,” he said in the company’s media release. “With his extensive experience, deep knowledge, and the high regard of his peers, Tim is poised to achieve remarkable success in this role. I am confident that he will uphold and advance our steadfast commitment to excellence and integrity in all our endeavors.”

Whittier’s journey in the mortgage banking sector began in 1992 after graduating from the University of Maryland. Over the years, he has held various positions, including assistant, loan officer, builder manager, branch manager, and regional manager at National City Mortgage. He also served as president of the board of governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Metropolitan Washington for five years.

Under Whittier’s leadership, First Home Mortgage said it aims to “continue its tradition of excellence” while exploring new opportunities for growth and innovation.

“I am honored to step into the role of president at First Home Mortgage,” Whittier said. “Since joining the company, I have been impressed by our blend of extensive support, cutting-edge technology, vast resources, and the agility of a smaller organization.”
