Ex-Newrez exec to spearhead product strategy and development
Cornerstone Home Lending has welcomed former Newrez executive Neil Merritt (pictured) to its leadership team as senior vice president of product strategy and development.
In this role, Merritt will focus on expanding Cornerstone's mortgage loan products and exploring new loan investor opportunities. He brings over two decades of experience in the mortgage industry, with a significant portion of his career dedicated to overseeing the development and launch of several new loan products.
"With his proven track record, Neil will be instrumental in propelling Cornerstone to a market-leading position in sourcing new investors and expanding our large portfolio of loan products," said Cornerstone CEO Adam Laird. "We look forward to supporting Neil's success and providing Cornerstone's sales teams with more opportunities to cater to the diverse needs of our clients."

Merritt joined Cornerstone from Newrez, where he most recently served as head of product strategy and development. Before Newrez, he held various leadership roles at Stearns Lending, Georgetown Mortgage, and Sherman Bridge Lending.
