Marvin D. Chance Jr. founded one of the first mortgage brokerages in the Kansas/Oklahoma panhandle in 1990. Since then, Mortgages Unlimited has grown to become one of the largest brokerages in the region, and Chance himself closes around 200 to 300 loans every year. He has also been a leader in obtaining rural housing programs in Southwest Kansas.
Chance is active in his local community, having been an elected college trustee for more than 26 years. He was elected as president of the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees for 2017-18. He also spearheaded and continues to oversee a local day care and preschool that focuses on providing affordable childcare. In 2017, Chance received a Distinguished Citizen Award from the chamber of commerce in Liberal, Kansas.
