Standard Life launches online agency registration service

The service eliminates the need for any paperwork or ‘wet’ signatures. Advisers with a valid FSA number* can now go to the adviserzone (www.adviserzone.com) and apply for an agency with the provider using a simple online process.

Once the online registration is completed, an acknowledgement is sent to the adviser and when validated, a welcome letter or e-mail is issued to the adviser.

Peter Brutin, sales technology manager at Standard Life, said: “The introduction of the Insurance Conduct of Business regulation combined with the launch of Standard Life’s Protection Online service has resulted in an increase in the number of advisers who want to transact business with Standard Life. In order to save these advisers time and remove the paper work involved in setting up an agency code we have launched the industry’s first online registration form. The online form not only does away with the need for any paper it removes the need for a proper, wet signature. Over 20 firms have already used this successfully during our testing period and judging by the feedback we think many more intermediaries will find it a really welcome new service.”

The new online registration form is now live on the adviserzone homepage: intermediaries should simply click on the “Online Agency Request Form” icon located at the bottom left hand side of the page.
