Mortgage Business Expo London to provide economic and industry insights

Brokers looking to gain a better understanding of the current economic situation and other issues facing the lending industry should not miss the upcoming Mortgage Business Expo (MBE) London 2022, organisers of the annual event said.

MBE London will open on Thursday, October 13, at the Business Design Centre, Islington. The seminar program is headlined by a keynote speech from Rob Elder, the Bank of England’s specialist in monetary analysis, external engagement, and agent for Greater London.

Other seminars include a UK specialist property finance seminar hosted by Financial Intermediary and Broker Association (FIBA) chairman, Adam Tyler, as well as panel discussions on equity release, buy-to-let, the challenges facing existing borrowers and first-time buyers in the current market, and the likely consequences of Consumer Duty and what it means for mortgage marketing.

In addition, there will be a full house of exhibitors in what Expo organiser Mike Mikunda considers a unique opportunity for brokers to not only meet the best cross section of lenders and service providers in one place, but also be updated with the latest thinking from the Bank of England.

“It is fortunate for brokers that the timing of the Expo coincides with this time of growing economic uncertainty which is affecting every aspect of our lives,” Mikunda said. “MBE is geared to help provide some valuable context and a deeper understanding of likely scenarios in the immediate future.

“For those who want some fresh ideas on social media marketing and how digital marketing can be integrated into brokers’ marketing plans, we are working with Google Digital Garage, who will be running courses during the day on a first come, first served basis.

“We are expecting a record number of visitors, so if you are a broker wishing to come away with a better grasp of the economic and industry realities facing us, get to the Business Design Centre as early as you can on the 13th to make sure you have a front row seat for the best MBE yet!”
