em launches Midlands roadshows

Mortgage packager em- is starting its round-table events with a two-day roadshow in the Midlands.

The roadshows will be held on Tuesday 26 April at the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham and Wednesday 27 April at the Hilton Hotel in Milton Keynes.

Firms to spend less on IT

Financial services companies will be very cautious about spending money on IT in 2005 and should prepare for a rough year, according to Forrester Research.

Despite finance firms outstripping companies in other sectors during 2004, with up to 8.4 per cent of their revenues dedicated to IT, the survey claims these companies will decrease their IT spending in 2005 by 2.1 per cent.

Mortgage Promotions adds BuildStore to panel

Mortgage Promotions has added BuildStore to its direct access lender panel to provide a range of bespoke self-build mortgages and home improvement loans for Mortgage Promotions’ registered users.

As part of the deal, registered users will have access through BuildStore to the BuildLoan product.

Pink extends Fees Assisted Remortgage Campaign

Pink Home Loans has extended its Fees Assisted Remortgage Campaign for an extra month to enable more intermediaries to take advantage of it.

The campaign, which now runs until 29 April 2005, is valid for a selected range of non-conforming remortgage products funded by the lenders

on Pink Home Loans’ branded panel – Mortgages plc, GMAC-RFC, Platform and First National.

No need for accounts with CHL

Capital Home Loans (CHL) has taken away the need for accounts on buy-to-let mortgages up to a new maximum ceiling of £2 million.

The ‘no accounts’ rule applies across the board to all buy-to-let products provided by CHL and its Irish Permanent brand.

The move is designed to appeal to established landlords with growing portfolios.

em employs 15 more staff

em-financial has announced the appointment of 15 new members of staff. Liz Roberts has joined em as business development manager for the north central region.

She will be responsible for managing key accounts with brokers across this area.

Advantage appointed to LIME

Advantage Home Loans has been appointed to the mortgage panel of Lifetime Insurance Mortgage Experts (LIME) as an approved provider for non-conforming mortgages.

Keith Dearling, director of Advantage Home Loans, said: “We are looking forward to developing our relationship by helping ARs used to dealing with prime cases tap into the lucrative non-conforming market.”

GMAC-RFC sells £125 million mortgage assets

GMAC-RFC has announced its first sale of residential UK mortgage assets, worth £125 million, into a new funding vehicle, complementing its existing Whole Loan Sale and Securitisation programmes.

Within the new structure the equitable interest in the mortgage loans was purchased through the issuance of Credit Linked Notes, which have been bought by Deutsche Genossenschafts-Hypothekenbank AG (DG HYP).

Andy Young leaves Sesame to head TBMC

The Business Mortgage Company (TBMC) has announced that, as part of its expansion plans, it has secured the services of Andy Young.

Andy has been involved in the mortgage market for over 15 years, previously as the mortgage marketing director at Zurich and more recently with Sesame, the largest IFA network in the UK with around 4,000 mortgage advisers.

Mplc has record month

Mortgages plc, the UK residential lender and wholly-owned subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, has announced March 2005 was its best month on record for new business.

The value of mortgage applications received was up 50 per cent on February, which was the previous record month.
