FSA launches document disclosure tool

The free online tool will help provide them with a template based on their circumstances for their standard mortgage IDD, lifetime mortgage IDD and CIDD disclosure documents. The regulator has produced similar tools for financial advisers and general insurance brokers which are available on the FSA website.

This tool is in addition to the other assistance and tools the FSA offers to help firms which include web pages, a fact sheet, roadshows, surgeries, and workshops. There are also web pages dedicated to disclosure, which include a factsheet focusing on key issues, good and bad practice examples highlighting common errors and templates, available on the FSA website.

The roadshows give firms a high-level view of topical issues and findings from FSA research and attendees have the opportunity to raise questions with FSA staff before, during and after the event. Surgeries are one-to-one appointments with a member of FSA staff at which firms can raise whatever issues they need help with and the regulator also offers a range of workshops to help firms comply with requirements set out in the handbook.
