Air appoints chairman of Air Academy

Air, a later life lending platform, has announced the appointment of Jon Dunckley (pictured) as chairman of the Air Academy.

Dunckley will be responsible for ensuring Air Academy modules remain relevant and accurate. Air said the new appointee is already working to add further modules to the course list by Q2 2023.

Dunckley has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, and is the founding director of About Consulting Group. He is a fellow at The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF), the Institute of Leadership & Management, and the Personal Finance Society, among others. Air said he also has technical expertise, with a particular focus on the later life market and long-term care.

Following its recent rebrand, the new look Air Academy was relaunched earlier this year. The Academy includes a fully interactive training program accredited by the LIBF, currently providing eight learning modules designed to upskill and support advisers in the later life lending market, with plans to expand further soon.

“Since the relaunch of our academy, we’ve seen incredible demand for training from advisers in the later life lending market,” Stuart Wilson, chief executive at Air, said. “It’s excellent to have an expert like Jon joining at such an exciting time to help us provide advisers with the highest quality insight, support, and content to enable them to grow professionally.

“With the later life lending industry rapidly evolving, advisers are more focused than ever on building their skillset and Jon will be pivotal to the support provided.”

Commenting on his appointment, Dunckley stated he was delighted to be joining the Air Academy at this point in its development.

“I’m incredibly passionate about skills training and have had a particular focus on the later life market and professional development since starting my career,” he said. “It is vital that advisers continue to learn and hone their skills as new regulations, approaches and products enter the market. I’m excited to be part of their journey.”
