Pepper Money hires second charge sales director

Specialist lender Pepper Money has announced the recruitment of Ryan McGrath (pictured) as its second charge sales director.

McGrath, who has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, has held a number of senior roles, including commercial banking officer at Lloyds Banking Group, chief executive at The Loans Engine, and most recently, programme manager at Enra Specialist Finance. He spent 23 years working in the second charge intermediary market.

In his new role as second charge sales director at Pepper Money, McGrath will focus on driving growth across the lender and its broker partners, while continuing to maintain its high service levels.

“We’re delighted to welcome Ryan to the Pepper Money team to lead our continued growth in the second charge mortgage market,” stated Richard Spinks, chief commercial officer at Pepper Money. “Ryan has a huge amount of experience in this sector, and his expertise will further enhance the proposition and experience we are able to offer to our broker partners.”

Earlier this year, Pepper Money secured new funding to support its lending growth plans for its first and second charge mortgages.

Commenting on his appointment, McGrath said the opportunity to join Pepper Money, one of the leading lenders in the second charge mortgage market, was too exciting to pass up.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team to continue growing our lending and exceeding our brokers’ expectations when it comes to service and proposition,” he added.

“A second charge mortgage is often the most suitable solution for customers with a capital raising requirement – and even more so in an environment where rates have risen quickly and refinancing an entire mortgage balance onto a higher rate simply doesn’t make sense.

“At Pepper Money, we will be working alongside our broker partners to ensure their customers benefit from our fast and practical way of financing to achieve the goals they want.”
