Move aims to help brokers structure tailored deals in a growing high-value lending segment

OSB Group has announced the formation of a new specialist division aimed at assisting brokers and their clients with complex property finance transactions valued over £5 million.
The newly established specialist property solutions team, which comprises experienced underwriters and property professionals, is focused on supporting brokers with both long- and short-term funding solutions across the buy-to-let and commercial property sectors.
Areas of expertise include multi-unit freehold blocks (MUFBs), property portfolios, purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), and a range of commercial assets such as retail parks, serviced offices, and industrial sites. The team will also help structure loans for refurbishment and conversion projects.
The launch comes as OSB responds to a shift in the market, where more property investors are looking to diversify and expand their portfolios through larger, more intricate deals that often require a customised approach.
Heading the new division is Peter Greig (pictured), a chartered surveyor and registered valuer with more than two decades of post-qualification experience. Greig previously served as group head of real estate and brings a broad understanding of the UK property landscape, including investment across multiple asset classes.
“We continue to see increased demand for diversification to clients’ portfolios which has led to applications being up 100% on 2024 levels, showing both strength and growth in this sector,” said Greig, now head of specialist originations at OSB Group. “The expertise of this team are perfectly placed to support brokers and their clients to discuss and shape deals at a pre-application stage, and then to oversee the deal through to completion.
“Brokers may already be aware of our excellent specialist finance account managers (SFAMs) and high net worth (HNW) teams who work closely with clients and are essentially the ‘linchpin’ of the case. This new specialist team will run alongside the SFAM and HNW teams to complement the great work we’re already doing, so we’ve really hit the ground running.”
