Nationwide bolsters intermediary relationships team

Nationwide Building Society has announced key appointments to its intermediary relationships team, with changes including new hires and internal promotions aimed at bolstering its market position in residential and buy-to-let lending.

Jimmy Govan has joined Nationwide as regional manager for the North West and Central region, while Natalie Beddall has been appointed as business development manager covering Derby, Wolverhampton, and Walsall.

Govan brings over two decades of experience in the financial services and mortgage industries to his new role at Nationwide. Most recently, he served as national sales manager at MPowered Mortgages, where he played a key role in driving the company’s growth since joining in 2020. Prior to that, he worked for Bluestone Mortgages, where he was national sales manager and business development manager (BDM). He also spent more than eight years as a BDM at Uinsure.

Beddall, on the other hand, served as telephone business development manager at Buckinghamshire Building Society for nearly two years. She also spent over two years as a self-employed mortgage advisor at Infinity Financial Advice. Her earlier career includes roles at HSBC, where she worked as a mortgage and protection manager and universal banker, as well as at M&S Bank as a bank assistant.

Internally, Jasmine McKinnell has been promoted to regional manager for London and the South East, while Andy Barnsley has stepped into the role of corporate relationship manager.

“I’m delighted to be building on our intermediary relationships team,” said James Briffitt (pictured), head of intermediary sales and new build at Nationwide Building Society. “Each new appointment brings a wealth of experience and passion to their roles.

“Intermediary business remains hugely important to Nationwide and The Mortgage Works, and by building on the collective strengths of our team we will continue to deliver market leading propositions that set us apart both in the residential and buy-to-let markets.”
