Rob Jupp to make maiden speech at ASTL conference

Jupp, who is chief executive of Brightstar Financial and will assume the role of AOBP chair from the 1 September, will examine the role of the broker in the bridging market.

He said: “The market is growing month-on-month often in response to the difficult lending conditions that mainstream lenders find themselves in.

“The changes we have seen over the last five years are likely to be nothing compared to the changes over the next five with the implementation of the MMR and then European legislation hot on its heels.

“The ASTL conference is the perfect opportunity for everybody that plays any part in the bridging market to sit down together and discuss exactly what that means for their business, their clients and the industry in general.”

The inaugural conference for the ASTL, entitled Bridging Today and Tomorrow, is aimed at lenders, brokers and all bridging professionals.

The programme of seminars will look at the rapid growth of the market since the credit crunch and will focus on what is likely to happen over the next few years and how it will impact on both the bridging and the mainstream lending market.

Expert speakers will examine the bridging market from every angle, including impending FCA and European legislation, and will discuss how bridging professionals can embrace the changes facing the market and prosper within it.

Benson Hersch, chief executive of the ASTL, said: “The ASTL inaugural conference is likely to have a significant impact on the bridging market and how it is perceived.

“The aim is to better equip every professional within it to cope with the impending changes to our market.

“One role of the ASTL is to encourage a higher level of professionalism in the market and the quality of our speakers will play a significant part in that.”

The conference will take place on 10 October at Butchers’ Hall in London.
