London-based bridge loan provider Market Financial Solutions (MFS) has partnered with Indian restaurant Benares to provide hot meals to NHS staff.

The restaurant has been delivering daily food packages to NHS doctors on the front-line of the fight against COVID-19 since 23 March.

For every meal order it receives from paying customers, Benares donates one meal to local NHS staff.

To date, the restaurant has delivered close to 1,000 meals to Hammersmith, Charing Cross, Chelsea and Westminster and St Mary’s (Paddington) hospitals, as well as local medical centres in Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Victoria.

MFS and Benares will jointly donate funds to cover the cost of the meals.

MFS is also encouraging other local businesses to find out how they can take part.

Tiba Raja, director of MFS, said: “The NHS is under enormous stress at the moment.

“So, given our close relationship with Benares, we are delighted to be working with them to support our crucial frontline staff. They deserve freshly cooked hot meals as delivered by Benares.

“If there is one positive thing to come from this health crisis, it is the community spirit currently on show.

“Regardless of sector, businesses are rallying together and using available resources to help those in need.

“It is only by coming together as a community to support the NHS that we will be able to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

“That is why we are encouraging anyone who’d like to get involved in this initiative to reach out to the MFS team.”
