The shortlist names industry standouts across 23 categories
The Canadian Mortgage Awards has named its 2026 excellence awardees — the final shortlisted candidates across 23 competitive categories ahead of the November 25 gala at Rebel Toronto, marking the programme's 20th anniversary.
Presented by Canadian Mortgage Professional, the CMAs are widely regarded as the benchmark recognition event in the Canadian mortgage sector. This year's edition spans broker, brokerage, lender, BDM, underwriter, and industry service provider categories.
Judging is set to commence in October, with winners determined by a points-based system aggregating votes from an independent panel of five specialists spanning housing economics, regulatory law, federal housing policy, and mortgage industry leadership.
Brokers, brokerages, and networks
Regional broker recognition spans three geographic bands. In Eastern Canada (Québec and Ontario), excellence awardees include Anthony Di Feo of Multi-Prêts Mortgages, Nicole Farrugia of Vine Group, and Paul Meredith of PMT Mortgage Corp, among others.
In the Maritimes and Atlantic Canada, Clinton Wilkins of CENTUM Home Lenders and Leslie Penney of Verico East Coast Mortgage Brokers Inc. are among those shortlisted.
In Western Canada, Asim Ali of DLC A.I.M.I. Collective Mortgage Group and Zaheed Valli-Hasham of City Wide Mortgage Services – VH Mortgage Group are recognised.
For brokerages, the National Brokerage of the Year shortlist includes:

The National Broker Network of the Year shortlist names CENTUM Financial Group, Dominion Lending Centres, Mortgage Centre Canada, and Verico Financial Group.
Specialist and individual recognition
The MCAN Award for Woman of Distinction — one of the programme's most prominent individual honours — has drawn a shortlist that includes Frances Hinojosa of Tribe, Sabeena Bubber of Xeva Mortgage, Tracy Valko of A.I.M.I Collective Mortgage Group, and Tricia McIntosh of The Mortgage House Inc., among others.
In private lending, the Canadian Mortgages Inc. Award for Broker of the Year – Private Lending recognises Geoff Lee of GLM Mortgage Group, Lev Keselman of Peak Mortgage Company, and Sarah Albert of Premiere Sarah Squared, alongside several others.
The Equitable Bank Award for Broker of the Year – Reverse Mortgages shortlists Parminder Bhatti of AKAL Mortgages Inc., Rich Ulvild of Xeva Mortgage, and Yamini Mehta of 8Twelve Mortgage Corp.
The Grechi Carter Professional Corporation Award for Broker of the Year – Commercial names Ahmed Hatata of Green Mortgage Solutions Inc., Alexander Durand of Mcommercial, and Jean Luc Dion of Multi-Prêts commercial, among others.

The 2026 shortlist also spans innovation, philanthropy, emerging talent, and lender recognition. It includes the Innovator Champion of the Year, Young Achiever of the Year, RFA Award for Excellence in Philanthropy and Community Service, Lender BDM of the Year, Lender Underwriter of the Year, and Mortgage Industry Employer of Choice, among others.
