AltX Financial Group has concluded its inaugural residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) transaction, the Horizon 2026-1 Trust, raising $400 million backed by a pool of Australian residential mortgage loans.

The deal marks a milestone for AltX Financial Group and its non-bank lending arm, Assetline Capital, strengthening the funding platform behind Horizon as the lender looks to grow its long-term mortgage offering through the broker channel.

Horizon spans Prime, Near Prime and Specialist lending, with Full Doc and Alt Doc options, for individuals, self-employed borrowers, companies, trusts and self-managed super funds (SMSFs).

AltX Financial Group co-founder and co-chief executive Nick Raphaely (pictured, left) said the deal was an important step in the evolution of the group's lending platform.

"Building access to diversified institutional funding gives us a stronger platform from which to grow our mortgage business and continue investing in the proposition we bring to brokers. Ultimately, this is about giving brokers greater confidence in Horizon as a long-term lending partner."

The transaction attracted support from 10 institutional investors, with Deutsche Bank and National Australia Bank acting as co-arrangers and joint lead managers, and Perpetual Corporate Trust as trustee and trust manager.

AltX Financial Group co-founder and co-chief executive Steven Beinart (pictured, right) said the raise would support Horizon's next growth phase through brokers, building on the group's broader push into specialist lending.

"We see significant opportunity to continue growing Horizon through the broker channel. This transaction gives us a stronger foundation to do that, while we continue investing in the product, pricing and policy settings that give brokers more ways to find a solution for their clients.

"Our ambition is to make Horizon a bigger part of the consideration set for Australian brokers, and this milestone is an important step towards that goal."
