Yorkshire Building Society as added Mark Parsons (pictured) to its board as a non-executive director.

 

Parsons, who retired in 2014, has over 30 years’ experience in financial services.

In his most recent role, Parsons held the position of chief executive at Coventry Building Society. He has also spent time at Barclays, Abbey National and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Parsons will take over from senior independent director and vice chair Mark Pain, who will be stepping down.

Non-executive director Alison Hutchinson will take on the role of senior independent director and vice chair.

“I am delighted to welcome Parsons to our board. His leadership skills and experience, alongside his broad ranging skillset, mean he is well placed to serve the society in this senior leadership position.

“His depth and breadth of experience in managing retail financial services at an executive level will further strengthen the board.”
