YES goes green

In the last few months the company has introduced a number of dramatic changes which it claims has made it one of the most environmentally conscious companies in Wales. From housekeeping to energy supplies, YES has reviewed all major aspects of its business with a view to seek out more environmentally friendly alternatives.

Key changes include:

  • Heating source switched from gas to electricity
  • All electricity supplies now come from renewable sources
  • 90 per cent of all paper and cardboard used is recycled
  • The fleet is being changed to low CO² emission models (50 per cent complete)
  • Ultra-efficient heat exchange air conditioning system fitted, reducing energy required for heating and cooling by 60 per cent
Matt Cottle, commercial director at YES Loans and Mortgages, said: "As one of the fastest growing companies in Wales we believe it is our duty to do all we can to reduce our environmental footprint. We believe very strongly that businesses should do as much as they can to minimise the impact they have on the environment.

"There is always more we can do and we will constantly monitor ways in which we can reduce the drain of natural resources however, the changes we have announced today are the first step in what we intend to be a long-term plan for YES."
