Xit2 staff face redundancy

Mark Blackwell, managing director at Xit2, would not confirm how many people out of the 25 staff would lose their jobs but said every job that exists in Oxford would be replicated at Decision Insight Information Group’s offices in Kent.

He confirmed the senior management team will all be transferring.

“It will be down to individual staff to choose whether they want to make the move,” he said. “A lot of our IT people will also have the choice of working remotely.”

Blackwell added that the finance function within the business had already transferred to Kent, though these new jobs were not performed by former Oxford-based employees.

He said the change was positive for the firm and indicated investment in the business by its parent.

“This is a growth story - there is no real change for us in terms of roles,” he said. “We are beefing up our IT and we can’t do that in Oxford. The office lease expires at the end of the year and we’ve taken the opportunity to move operations to Kent.”

Xit2 also announced it will be upgrading its service centre support and contact platform as well as making an IT platform upgrade with all IT services moving to SunGard by the beginning of November.

Blackwell said: “This announcement today is great news for our business and its customers.”

Xit2 was bought by DIIG in January 2011.
