Webline selects Focus technology to enable online e-trading

Focus’ online application of goal:technology has been integrated into Webline’s service to offer intermediaries an easy way of accessing and completing a new business application via a web browser.

Paul Holland, Managing Director of Webline comments;

We have provided online business submission services for a number of months now, with some of the leading providers. goal:technology is used industry-wide within the life and pensions market and so integrating the technology into our expanding online service provides insurance companies with a consistent technology platform and enables them to reuse their existing electronic products on our platform.”

John Streets, Chief Executive of Focus Solutions adds;

“Working with Webline is an important development for Focus and completes our coverage of the main life and pensions industry portals. The 2002 Focus Quotient research stated that product providers identified IFA portals as the priority channel for IT investment in 2003 and so we expect to see a considerable growth in activity for this year. Webline is well placed to accelerate electronic trading to build the critical mass required to make the electronic submission of new business the preferred method for IFAs.”

Webline went live with e-submission earlier in 2003, but will be rapidly expanding its services in early 2004 as new providers and products come online. 17 product providers are already live on the Webline platform, which provides online quotes for 13 term assurance and critical illness providers, 6 investment bond providers, 3 income protection providers and a specialist medical insurer.

Dave Maharaj, National Sales Manager, Premier Connections comments;

“We have used Webline since 2001 with several hundred members now using the service for online quotations. The new online e-submission system will form part of the Premier Protection solution to comply with the regulatory changes ahead.”
