Webline announces enhancements to online income protection service

Following the improvements, Webline’s portal service now allows advisers to make easy selections for multiple deferment periods, enabling them to view the premiums for 4, 8, 13, 26 and 52 week deferment periods from all associated providers, in one easy-to-read comparative results table.

John Willis, chief technology officer at Webline, comments: “In the past year, we have seen a noticeable increase in the volume of both quotations and online submission (e-business) for income protection. With a growing awareness of the needs of our expanding userbase, we have worked closely with Friends Provident to develop the service with more refinements and options to best suit the adviser. Our service now represents the most comprehensive online income protection service available to advisers marketwide.”

The new Webline service is designed to help the adviser in addressing the sales process in a compliant manner and make it easier for advisers to submit applications online from the same Webline ‘window’ – thereby benefiting from increased commission options.

Steve Young, e-commerce manager at Friends Provident, comments: "It’s good to see the Webline service continue to evolve with an emphasis on making life easier for IFAs. The new structure of the Income Protection service is a great improvement and, combined with online submission services, will help make a more seamless process for IP business. E-submission certainly makes sense from an IFA’s perspective; with a 5% enhancement in commission for online submission, coupled with a quicker underwriting process as a result of cutting out postal delays. Although IP is a fairly recent addition to the range of products available for submission online, Friends Provident has seen a rapid uptake in use with over a quarter of our IP business being submitted online within 6 months of launching the new service."

The new enhancements are live on the Webline service from today. For a free one month trial of Webline’s online services, advisers should register as normal, then phone 01329 508000 or e-mail [email protected] (within the first four weeks) if no further service is required.
