VAS Valuation Group hires first general manager

VAS Valuation Group has appointed Ashley Kirton (pictured) to the newly created role of general manager.

Kirton joins from retailer B&Q, where she was showroom manager, prior to which she worked in key roles for Tesco and Tesco Mobile from 2004.

Reporting to operations director Louise Chapman, Kirton’s role at the real estate surveyor includes monitoring day-to-day e-mail and phone traffic to ensure all customer service level agreements (SLAs) are met, as well as internal communications, staff assessment and training, and regular reporting to the senior management team.

She will work closely with the heads and assistant heads of every department across the VAS Panel division.

“When I met with Louise and heard how far the business had come in five years, I knew what was required,” Kirton said. “The company puts service at its very heart, and to continue to deliver and surpass customers SLAs, every department needs to be running seamlessly, that’s what I’ll bring.”

Chapman, meanwhile, welcomed the appointment of Kirton, adding that they are “very excited of the important role she will play.”

“Team leadership and customer service are critical to our next growth phase, and Ashley has a proven track record of delivering these in two of the most demanding retailers in the UK,” she said.
